PeakHub

Rename the hub

The name is what the hub shows up as over Bluetooth, so you can tell yours apart from the others in the room. It is stored on the hub and survives firmware updates. A new hub is called Peak- followed by four characters of its device ID.

  1. Switch the hub on. Its Bluetooth light should blink, and no program should be running.
  2. Disconnect other apps from the hub (only one can be connected at a time).
  3. Enter the new name below and pick your hub in the list the browser shows.
  4. The hub spells the new name on its display and then shows ?. Press the center button to accept. Any other button, or waiting 10 seconds, cancels.

Why the button press? Anyone in Bluetooth range could send a rename, so the hub only accepts it from someone who is holding it. If the hub is protected with a PIN, your computer asks for the PIN the first time it connects.
