Color Sensor
A red/green/blue color sensor with its own illumination LED — an expansion sensor for the FloorPro.

| Sensor | TCS3400 RGB + clear-light sensor |
|---|---|
| Illumination | Built-in white LED for consistent readings |
| Output | 8-bit RGB (LUMP) or raw 16-bit RGBC with adjustable gain & integration (PUMP); HSV + nearest named color |
| Connection | FloorPro expansion port (EXT1 or EXT2), auto-detected at power-up |
| Compatibility | PeakHub (PUMP) and LEGO Prime/Inventor hubs with Pybricks (LUMP) |
| Size (incl. housing) | 24 × 24 × 8 mm |
| Power | 250 mW typical, 1 W max |
| Mounting | 2 × M3 nuts on the LEGO-compatible 8 mm grid |
The Color Sensor reads the color of whatever it’s pointed at. Built around a TCS3400 red/green/blue/clear sensor with its own white illumination LED, it delivers stable readings regardless of the surrounding light, and reports color as RGB, HSV, or the nearest named color.
An expansion sensor for FloorPro
The Color Sensor plugs into either expansion port on the FloorPro — EXT1 or EXT2 — and is detected automatically at power-up. You can pair it with a Gyro on the other port; every combination works.
Two levels of detail
- Simple (LUMP): 8-bit RGB values, ready to use on LEGO Prime/Inventor hubs running Pybricks.
- Detailed (PUMP): raw 16-bit RGBC readings with adjustable gain and integration time on PeakHub, for full control over the measurement.
What you can build
- Line- and surface-color following.
- Object sorting by color.
- Light-reactive behaviors driven by ambient brightness.
